ABOUT

The Ottawa Beavers and Banshees RFC

The Ottawa Beavers-Banshees Rugby Football Club is the founding rugby club in Ottawa, and the oldest in Eastern Ontario.

Founded originally as the Ottawa Beavers in 1951, the club amalgamated with the Ottawa’s oldest women’s rugby club the Ottawa Banshees in 2002 to form the Ottawa Beavers-Banshees Rugby Football Club.

For a more in depth history of the club, please see the History sections for the Beavers and the Banshees.

The club is a member of the Easter Ontario Rugby Union (EORU), and currently plays its senior level games in an interlock league between the EORU and the Quebec Rugby Union (FRQ). The junior schedule is managed directly by the EORU, as are the senior teams’ fall leagues.

All home matches take place at Twin Elm Rugby Park, which is an international grade facility. As a member of the Ottawa Beavers-Banshees RFC, we are a part-owner of Twin Elm, which is administered by a volunteer Board of Directors elected at the Annual General Meeting. Twin Elm also employs staff to maintain the grounds and facilities and runs a full bar and concession stand during the spring, summer and fall. Visit Website.
