Another decade is drawing to a close, so it is in the spirit of grand tradition that we launch the search for our Beaver and Banshee of the Decade.
As a quick disclaimer (from Prez Lucas) - it's absurd to claim that any one person was the most critical member of our organization over the past ten years - We've spent the last decade building ourselves up to become the largest senior men's and women's programs in the city, and a lot of people have had roles to play along the way that have been vital to this success, regardless of how long they've been with us (as the old saying goes, it takes a village).
Notwithstanding, we're not going overturn 70 years of tradition, so we are turning the selection over to The People to help us choose our winners.
Last week we covered the Banshees, and this week we will end with the Beavers - we have compiled a shortlist of people on the voting ballot who we think should be considered (the criteria for this is listed as well...but feel free to add your own names as well if we have missed anyone), as well as a quick summary of some of their notable achievements along the way.
And because 2015 was supposed to be the last election held under a first-past-the-post system, we've introduced a ranked ballot electoral process whereby you can identify your top three preferences.
Anyone who has ever been affiliated with our Club is allowed to vote on these awards, and can access the survey here:
Sincerely,
The OBBRFC Executive
