On Saturday, April 30, the OBBRFC took to TD Place for a beautiful afternoon of spring rugby.
The day kicked off with a junior skills clinic and touch tournament to introduce a group of young players to the sport.
Then the women played a Saint-Lambert/Gladiateurs combo in a pre-season match. The Banshees arrived with a full line-up (a covid comeback miracle!) and put in a few tries and some solid efforts as the match progressed. We weren't really keep track but final score was a bunch to a few tries against us.
The men concluded the event by hosting the Locks men's side to a pre-season exhibition. There were a number of stand-out performances as the men are starting to take form getting ready for the start of league play in a few weeks, and the team cohesiveness from the previous week was noticeably improving. Final score was roughly a lot of tries to none for the Beavers.
Big thanks to the Locks for coming into town to join us for the day, and for all the junior athletes who came out to participate in skills clinics. As always, these TD Place events are an exceptional opportunity to showcase rugby in an amazing venue.
