Beavers 1s went to Westmount hoping to clinch first place in their division and a promotion from Div 1 to Quebec Super League. However, our long-time rivals at Westmount showed up with a very strong side and the win was not to be had. All said, this puts the Men's 1st XV in a comfortable second place to close out the LPR league play for the season. We also secured a home game semi-final match against RCM on August 6.
Beavers 2s hopped on the bus to Montreal and picked up a game against SABRFC 2s given that their scheduled EORU match was another forfeiture (at least we still make the rugby happen!). It was a super close and competitive match that saw the men downed by 4 points and the most heart-breaking try-line knock on to end the game. We are super grateful for SABRFC being able to take us up on a game on short notice and allowing the full men's side to get a bus trip in together this summer.
Banshee 1s had the week off, but the 2s linked up with Lanark (the Lanshees) for a game in Perth against Kingston. Lanark misinformed everyone of the kick-off times for the games, which meant we got to arrive in Perth several hours early and attend the grand opening ceremonies of their new rugby park. Which was cool.
