Senior teams ended their regular seasons with a bang!
The men went to Montreal to play the St-Lambert Locks. A bunch of the regular first team players were unavailable for the weekend, but that only meant that a lot of fresh faces got their opportunity to step up and get some time in new positions and at new levels of competition. And they certainly delivered, capitalizing on two clean bonus point wins over the Locks. Not shabby for a late season road game.
The senior women hosted the Montreal Barbarians at Twin Elm, and delivered a statement with a decisive shut out over the lady barbs. Rachel and Emma both put in hat tricks, and Todd finished the game with a birthday try.
This ends the men's season with a 7-2-1 record for the 1st XV, and 6-3-0 for the 2s, securing them (by pretty narrow margins) with a 3rd place finish in each of their divisions. The women end with a 4-6 record for the season, and a 4th place finish. This is a year-over-year improvement for every senior team, and all teams have secured semi-final play-off spots for August 10.
The Juniors took a trip out to Barrhaven to play the Scottish. The Junior Beavers released the dam on their opposition (lame attempt at Beaver puns) and really came together as a team. Unfortunately, the Junior Banshees came short of completing a perfect Club sweep of the weekend (but Claire did get her first try!).
