Lots of rugby took place with this weekend.

The Banshees were looking for redemption from their season opener when they hosted Kingston at Twin Elm. The Banshees ended the first half by scoring a try, and started the second half by putting on some great pressure on defense, and offence that forced the Panthers to concede a penalty try. Unfortunately, penalty trouble in the first half, and a few too many quick turnovers proved too costly for the Banshees to overcome.

The Senior Men played their first away games of the year by notching two wins against teams in separate locations. The Beavers IIs won their third match in a row with a solid all around effort against the XV de Montreal (now RCM 3s?).

Beavers Is went to Ormstown to play a much-improved team than we faced at the beginning of the season. Despite dominating possession and territory, the Beavers struggled to get on the scoreboard and trailed by 10 early in the second half. However, the men rallied and reversed the trend from recent weeks by putting in a strong second half performance to take the win.

The Juniors both played the Ottawa Irish on Sunday for their second group of exhibition matches before league play starts in July. The Irish only showed up with a handful of players for each team, so they forfeited both matches. But we are always up for some rugby, so both the Junior Beavers and Banshees matched numbers and had a fun outing that saw an opportunity for everyone to get some game time. Both teams managed to get the ball rolling forward down the pitch on several occasions.
